Therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

I'm Danielle – a compassionate and qualified integrative counsellor in Canterbury.

I'm deeply committed to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, offering a safe, non-judgemental space where you can truly be yourself. My goal is to help you explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace, empowering you to heal and grow.

As a registered member of the BACP, I provide both online and in-person counselling sessions in Canterbury within easy reach of Whitstable and Faversham in Kent, making mental health care accessible to suit your needs. With a background in caregiving and personal experience overcoming life’s hurdles, I understand how vital mental well-being is and strive to make quality care available for everyone.

As an integrative counsellor I draw on many theories such as psychodynamic and person-centred, as well as combining humanistic, CBT and relational approaches, this allows me to tailor therapy for each individual.

Feeling truly heard in therapy is crucial for healing and personal growth. When you’re listened to without judgment, it creates a sense of trust and safety, allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions more openly. This validation fosters self-awareness, emotional clarity, and strengthens the therapeutic relationship, empowering you to work through challenges and make meaningful changes.

I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified counsellor and therapist I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

Speak in confidence

Therapy takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy – and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

A problem shared

Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression – many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Therapy gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems – and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.

Starting your counselling journey

The first step in your counselling journey is building a trusting relationship, which is essential for achieving your goals. Our initial session is an opportunity to get to know each other and set the foundation for our work together. During this time, I’ll ask about what has brought you here, what you hope to accomplish, and go over some necessary details. Share as much or as little as you feel ready to and I’ll listen to your story. I understand the courage it took to take this important step toward personal growth and healing. This is where your journey truly begins.

What issues can therapy help with?

  • Trauma
  • Relationship problems
  • Abuse
  • Problems with confidence or self-esteem
  • Difficulties at work or in retirement
  • Feelings of stress or anxiety
  • Grief, loss or bereavement
  • Depression

Self-care

Self-care is essential for maintaining good mental health. In the busyness of life and the effort we put into supporting others, it’s easy to overlook our own needs. It’s crucial to prioritize self-care regularly, making time for it each week.

For me, horses have always been my sanctuary and a source of self-care, even since childhood. Whether it’s spending time with horses or connecting with friends, these moments are my way of recharging and nurturing my well-being.
